Welcome to GamerU's tips and tricks for Best Fiends! Like we mentioned earlier, you are allowed to bring into a level one character for each color: purple, red, green, blue, and yellow.
Characters come into two types: "bombers" and "connectors", and this video is all about the connector guys. Connectors have the power to convert a piece on the board into a connector block. You can use connector blocks with a matching piece to convert all the pieces around it into the same color pieces. It's basically combo city when that happens.
- Unlike bomb pieces however, connector blocks cannot start a combo, there must be at least one original piece to trigger it.
- They also cannot detonate Black Bombs and can only destroy debris and crates at a normal pace like any other combo.
- Connector characters also do less damage with their combos than Bomber characters, however, if you have a lot of room on the board and get a combo rhythm going, they can dish out damage at a faster rate, in fact, one Slugmaggedon combo will be enough to recharge their connector blocks right after using one.
- Plus, unused converted pieces from a connector block will also stay converted, allowing you to reuse them, and when you upgrade them, they can convert even more pieces around the board for you to use.
Still, connector characters have their downfall in later levels to bomber characters, due to the fact that the later levels are crowded, cramped, and stuffed with extra objectives suited to bombers, however, you definitely want to keep at least one converter character around to clear out board space, and most definitely if you are in a level with lots of "collect color" objectives; usually only connector characters can hope to collect that many pieces.
