Welcome to GamerU's tips and tricks for Best Fiends! As you know, you are allowed to bring into a level one character for each color: purple, red, green, blue, and yellow. Characters come into two type: "bombers" and "connectors", and we'll talk about bombers for now. Bombers have the special power to convert a piece on the board into a bomb piece when you fill up their power meter using combos. They also do more damage with the normal combo strings than connector characters.
Those Bomb pieces created by bomber characters are extremely powerful and useful, they do huge damage to slugs, can break open crates from anywhere, clear out debris, trigger Black Bombs, and are so all-around helpful for objectives that bomber characters become indispensible in later levels.
The kind of bomb piece created depends on the character. Main character Temper drops a bomb that blows up in a horizontal line. Some characters have a vertical explosion instead, and if you are lucky, you will find characters with "area bombs" that will explode in a radius around it.
Another huge advantage to bomb pieces is that they can chain reaction into each other, not only increasing the damage toal but spreading out the explosion. Plus, a line bomb that chain into another bomb with a matching direction will reorient the other for you to maximize the explosion distance. Very handy if you set up your bombs right. Be sure to evolve bomber characters as soon as possible to increase the distance of their bomb explosions! That does it for now, stay tuned to GamerU for more tips for Best Fiends.
