Welcome to this week’s PlayStation News Minute.

It’s a new month, which means new free games for PlayStation Plus members. Not a horrible selection for March.

Sony’s rumored upcoming game subscription service, Project Spartacus, is rumored to have a tiered pricing structure: ranging from 10-16 dollars a month. With the goal to compete with Microsoft’s Game Pass, the service is reportedly pretty close to actually launching.

A new system for accelerated ray tracing may be coming soon to the PS5, as Sony has just patented a new way to speed up ray tracing while also taking pressure off the GPU. The patent doesn’t give any clarification on if this technology could be applied to the current PS5 through a software update or if we will have to wait for a revision to see this new ray tracing tech in action.

It’s time to build up that backlog. A big sale just went up on the PlayStation store. Sony’s calling it the “PlayStation Essentials” sale, you can grab any of these games at a nice discount until March 16th.

And finally, don’t forget that Gran Turismo 7 is out now. So, if racing games are your thing, you might not want to miss this one, as it certainly looks to be top tier in both graphics and gameplay.
