Pretty much what we know about snakes comes from movies where we see most of them grow to immense proportions. We think that the producers are playing a fast one on us, but a handful of snakes go beyond what is portrayed on TV. With over 3000 snake species globally, there are many candidates to consider for the top ten, but I have made my pick, and I know you'll love it.
Watch out for the shocker on number one!
10. Eastern Diamondback
The Eastern Diamondback snake is not only monstrous but one of the contenders of the scariest snakes in the world. As for the threat they pose to humans, they're considered the most dangerous in North America. The Guinness World Records doesn't list the world's heaviest poisonous snake, but pockets of evidence point out that this snake is probably the one. However, the possibility of that happening is still a subject of debate among scientists.
A specimen shot in 1946 measured around 7 feet and 8 inches. What's even more terrifying is that it weighed 34 pounds. This was way too much for a rattlesnake! This animal has a double-action venom that contains a thrombin-like enzyme capable of clothing fibrinogen and leads to plasminogen activation. This sounds as complicated as it seems and doesn't even seem like good news. The Eastern diamond has the longest fangs of any rattlesnake as it measures up to an inch. Their venom is enough to take down three men.

9. King Brown
King Brown is a member of the black snake family. You should know that any animal that has a king attached to his name isn't a joke. They're definitely more specialized than the other members of the family. The longest of this species found measured 11 feet long, although they averaged 8 feet. There are tons of venomous snakes in Australia, but King Brown's Savage bite and its habit of chewing on its prey make it stand out.
Their venom breaks down red blood cells, is mildly neurotoxic, and damages muscle tissues. After a bite, your body system changes, and you don't feel well. Black snake antivenin is required in cases of a bite and should be issued immediately. Most snakes on this list are shy and would likely not initiate an attack, but King Brown can't relate to such calmness. It brings the fight to your location and watches you struggle for your life. It is naturally bad-tempered and needs provocation to attack.

8. Eastern Indigo
Not much noise is made about the Eastern Indigo, but you'd be shocked to realize that this black snake is the longest in North America. The longest of its kind measures 9.2 feet, but researchers believe that they could be much longer. Unfortunately, it is listed among the world's endangered species, meaning that we wouldn't be hearing from them in the nearest future.
When threatened, they flatten their necks to look bigger than their original size. They survive in the wild by imploring several tricks. One of them is that they're naturally blessed to withstand the cottonmouth, rattler, and copperhead venom. Most of what is known about their breeding habits were gathered from populations in northern Florida. Breeding season occurs between November and April, with females laying up to 12 eggs in May or June. Their hatchlings are said to measure between 17 to 24 inches. Females have the extraordinary power to store sperm for years, if necessary. A record exists of an Eastern Indigo laying five eggs even though it was isolated four years ago.

7. Bushmaster
Bushmasters hold the record of the largest venomous snakes in the Americas. Some species are known to reach 12 feet or more. They're known for their coffin-shaped head, which is symbolic as an encounter with them may send you to an early grave. Like most deadly snakes, they are unpredictable but aggressive when disturbed.
When faced with a life-threatening situation in their environment, they'd instead run for their lives. The reverse is the case when the danger is directly targeted at them. They swiftly release a chemical that envelopes the assailant and paralyzes them. The Bushmasters is also a pit viper, meaning that it uses heat-sensing pits on both sides of the head as infrared sensors. They see the world with an infrared spectrum typical of a Terminator kind of life. In Lara, Venezuela, this monster is responsible for 78 percent of all fatal snake bites.
