With a cool name like Black Heart, I regretfully must say that it is a pretty terrible horizontal scrolling Arcade shooter developed by NMK and distributed by UPL, made back in 1991. The story from Wikipedia is this:

"Taking place in a magical world, the people of the world relish in a time of peace they've maintained for three-hundred years. However, Taranis, the leader of the Black Magic Military, starts a world war when he suddenly attacks the White Magic Military. The attacks continue and the Black Magic Military is on the verge of victory. The only hope the magic world has to stop Taranis lies in two fellow Black Magic users and dragon-riding soldiers of the Black Magic Military, Giroux and Jeanne, who betray Taranis and rebel against him in order to seek peace for an unknown reason."

The primary objective of this game is to eat your quarters, yet it provides no good reason for anyone to put up with its crap. When you play games in the arcade, you're used to surrendering your money gladly if you reap great sights, sounds, fun moments, and memories in the process. You won't find any of those things while playing Black Heart... MAYBE you'll find some fun somewhere if you're a complete and utter masochist.

The game looks innocent enough in the beginning. You're in a forest full of trees and fish, blasting creatures on a pretty cool dragon, grabbing faeries and raining death on boss enemies who look like they don't belong in said environment. If you want someone to play with, you can get someone to play as another dragonrider who looks the same but has a different color dragon. You shoot, shoot, and shoot some more, and your only major power-up is the ability to breathe powerful close range fire. All seems right with the world. After the second level (and for some, even on it) however, you will find a game which is so unjustly unfair and unrealistically brutal and plagued with poor level design, that you'll immediately lose interest and not care to get through the rest of the uninspired levels.

Just imagine combining a slow, large character in a classic shooter whose shots are bigger than the enemies he faces and easily get lost in the shuffle (and this is with ONE player) with fast enemies, obstacles, and traps that come from every direction (often all at once) when you die in one hit and lose power with each death... well, do I even need to say it? Probably not, but I will anyway; it's never a good idea to put all those things in one game. Combine that with unimpressive audio/visuals and practically zero originality and you have a contender for one of the worst Arcade shumps you could ever want to play. That more or less sums up Black Heart.

This is a video of the first two levels.
