Black (PS2)
Criterion's macho fueled FPS swansong makes the Playstation 2 exit with a bang.
Black isn't innovative. It doesn't try to different. But what Black instead does is relish in an experience that best matches an action movie. To this day I can't think of a more carlessly unrealistic and flat-out ballsy shooter that has met with such a fantastic reception. And that said, it is easily one of the best looking Playstation 2 games I've played, all the way down to the very reloading itself the game.
The core excitement lies in the gunplay. Criterion knows this. Black reeks in it. With amazing destructable environments (almost level with Red Faction) and a ton of fun to shoot weapons, I can't help but recommend it either. Naturally Black only lacks in the inability to play the game with friends. With a sequel on the way though, EA can fix this. Get to work on it dudes ;D
