The House of the Dead Overkill (Wii)
A most painfully ignored Wii release. House of the Dead Overkill ranks up as close to the best possible on-rails shooter there is.
Overkill doesn't reinvent the light-gun wheel in anyway but instead pays a hilarious homage to grindhouse cinema and the exploitation genres of the 70s to full effect. Headstrong Games added some much needed personalty to the rather plain presentation of the House of the Dead series. Calling Overkill funny really is an under-statement whether it concerns the heavy use of profanities, the OTT B-Movie film style or even the witty banter between G and Washington.
This game does what other light-gun shooters fail in being able to stay fresh from beginning to end. Add some high quality cinematics, great sound in general aswell as the odd nipple slip from a certain female character (I'm seriously not kidding) and you get easily one of the best Wii titles available.
Go buy this ****ing game now.
