Blades of Time is an excellent example of the kind of console-oriented B-grade hack'n slasher which would never have been released on the PC (at least not here in the West) just a few years ago. Given the PC platform's resurgence recently it's clear that things have changed, however; so much so that Russian developer Gaijin Entertainment and their publisher Konami evidently felt that there was room on the (predominantly digital) market for their pulpy third-person action adventure.

I'm not usually the type of gamer who enjoys games ironically, but Blades of Time has such an embarrassing and pointlessly verbose script that I find myself laughing out loud while playing. The hilariously dressed protagonist apparently has as her main super power the ability to tap into an endless reservoir of incredibly stupid things to say, and aside from the seemingly decent Devil May Cry-inspired combat this is a game that's worth playing for the story, in a so-bad-it's-good kind of way...
