This new Kickstarter-style RPG crowd funding project is admittely a more risky proposition than all the other ones combined, but it's also the one I'm personally most excited about (yes, even more so than Project Eternity and Wasteland 2).

It's important to immediately emphasize that Grimoire is pretty much the worst case of vaporware in the history of the indie RPG scene. The game's extremely controversial developer Cleve Blakemore has notoriously failed to release a finished product - despite repeatedly promising to do so - at any point during the 17 years (!) this RPG has been in development. Now he's asking for *your* hard-earned money to (allegedly) finish the seemingly endless development cycle once and for all, with May 2013 as the new official release date.

While there can be no guarantees (or even reasonably safe bets) when it comes to a deeply problematic project like this, the developer has at least spent the past few months dutifully churning out proper gameplay videos via his YouTube page. So if all this *is* indeed an elaborate hoax, it's probably the most time-consuming video game-related hoax ever created. In other words, it would appear that Grimoire could be a real game after all, and if you're at all interested in playing a Wizardry 7-style indie RPG you might want to check this time-limited crowd funding campaign out (at your own risk, of course...).

Also, the official pitch is probably the best crowd funding video I've seen so far...
