Disclosure: This game copy was bought by the reviewer.

1 hour of story mode content and a wave based attack mode are currently available with the story mode able to be replayed once you finish the second level. Progress in terms of character improvements (unlocked by collecting shards of certain types) and proficiency attacks seem to be carried over while equipment is removed. Orbs are collected to purchase shards and equipment, but disappear if the player dies. The core concepts such as the three weapon types, general control scheme, and skills are incorporated very well with optimization being hit and miss depending on the portion of the level. Bosses and the wave attack mode ran smooth, but fighting through the levels in story mode can see regular frame rate drops. Localization is rather dreadful with a good portion not translated at all and the tutorial is structured in a less effective fashion.

Combat and the gameplay mechanics are solid, but the limited content in comparison to the price make this a pass for the moment.
