Holomento is an Indie, Dark Souls like with Intense Action Combat and a bright and vibrant Open World ish land to explore. Did you like Dark Souls? How about a Brighter Souls? Where you can be a samurai! Or even a gunslinger?! Along with multiple other character choices, like mage, sword and board, and more!

Enter into an expansive Action RPG with a striking High contrast style, where your melee and ranged abilities change as you find and equip new weapons, like throwing fire bolts with the magic glove, swinging away with the sword and board as you flash from foe to foe, or gunning them down with the revolver or the shotgun! I was particularly enjoying the retro rocket launcher! BOOM! 💥

There are special abilities you can find too, as well as upgrades to collect and empower your character as you explore the wide and varied environments.

Meta Progression is present in Holomento, in the form of character unlocks, money stored in the bank vault, and your character’s progress in rebuilding the structures of Holomento, which gain new abilities and expanded functions as you gather supplies throughout the land to repair them.
You can also find and collect objects for a certain big moneybags in order to gain some not so ribbon, ribbon abilities.
PermaDeath is also present, as when you die in Holomento, you must start from the beginning.

Interestingly, there seems to be an element of procedural generation present in Holomento as well, but not concerning the terrain of the map, which seems to be static.
From my time with the game, it seems chests contents and locations, gold bag locations, monsters spawns, as well as some quest item can spawn in different locations. Interesting, through I would love to see procedural generation of much of the map as well, to help keep things fresh.

Environmental exploration is a big part of Holomento, as you explore around the expansive and varied lands, looking for the randomly placed chests, cash, collectables, and slaying monsters for loot, exp, and gold.
The world itself is bright and fun to explore, and often presents elevated vistas where you can visually look over much of the traveled and untraveled land, which also serves to point you towards possible destinations. It is a very visual, and a very striking style.

Note: Holomento is in Early Access, thus any encountered bugs or other oddness is not representative of the final product.
Still, Holomento is offering good ARPG Dungeon Crawling and world exploration fun.
