The tragedy that surrounds Champion Mipha shows us the pure malice that Calamity Ganon brings with his resurrection that shook Zora's Domain 100 years ago. Like ripples in the water's surface changing to tidal waves we are shown that no one is safe from its intrusion upon peace.
We are constantly shown malice staining the land of Hyrule but this is the first time we see with our own eyes since awakening its corruption. How deep does this corruption go? Into our deepest desires and purest emotions?
Mipha's story of an unrealized love belongs in front of the other stories told in Breath of the Wild in my opinion because it shows us who we can become if we put love first in our lives. We become people that others rely on not because we are the most capable but because of how far we will go to make sure you become who you were born to be.
If you experience Breath of the Wild looking through the lens of love it really does take on a new, subtler truth of the tales we tell of heroes.
You cannot have a hero who does not love.
