Another Prologue boss battle in Bravely Second and probably the first battle that you can imagine yourself losing on this challenge without, like, falling asleep (and sleep-playing the game) or getting too drunk in the process. It's a battle against more two bosses at once, and we should more or less formulate a rule at this point that facing more than one enemy at a time makes our lives progressively more difficult - especially as we progress far enough to be unable to survive enemy attacks.
We've already talked about Bella whom we faced individually in the last video, and now she is accompanied by her faithful sidekick Cu. Coochie doesn't waste any time and will unleash powerful physical damage unto (luckily for us) single targets, comboing (so to speak) with Bella for a pretty decent chance to knock somebody out, and when we can't issue commands with one of the three characters, or when our assigned healer is down, that's quite a predicament that could well result in a game over, you never know.
The good thing for us is that our party has been joined by our 3rd character, that being lv. 6 Magnolia. She's the most proficient user of magic in our party, and her level allows her to take more punishment than Yew (who is supposed to be THE best caster, but when he's stuck at lv. 1 there isn't much luck for that to come true).
I made sure both Yew and Magnolia (Edea is best used as a supporter for the first part of the fight and then phys attacker for the second) learnt Spellcraft lv. 1 before the fight, unlocking Dart and Needle. Using Dart in conjunction with Lightning lets me maximise the damage done to Cu. Though Coochie is the healthiest of the two by far (2,25K HP compared to Bella's 1,2K), he's weak to Lightning, and that multiplies the damage by a lot. Plus, Bella will waste some of her turns using Wall - since I don't attack either of the two physically, I don't care about Wall's deadly counterattack until Cu is already down.
With the unpredictability of who the enemy could choose to attack and being at the end of the turn order, often unable to heal before another series of attacks (Bella only has 7 speed though), some of my units could end up dead - Stand Guard is only available to Edea since she's a Freelancer (Spellcraft needs to be learnt at Job lv. 5 and equipped as a skill to be used for non-Wizards so Yew/Mag stay as Wizard for access to it, as well as better magic power). Stand Guard has a 75% of activating on fatal attacks when above 1 HP, so Edea's chance to still remain alive in cases of bad luck is still acceptable (mrgrgr).
Still, the battle's not THAT tough as to warrant spending turns using Default, and I brave all the way to -4 with my attackers since I can mostly get away with it.
When Cooch is down and Bella is the only one alive, we switch to mostly attacking with just Edea, though Mag can help out (less effectively as a Wizard) - she has a pretty good critical rate with the weapon she joined with, just like she did in Bravely Default. Now Wall is an actual problem, and we sometimes need to wait a bit and use Default once or twice.
Still, she's only a little stronger than before, and it's 3-on-1 once Cu is down. Eventually, the victory is ours.
We unlock the Charioteer job afterwards. This is a bizarre class indeed, yet its abilities are useful for various purposes and we'll be using it in Prologue and even Chapter 1 extensively, possibly even for longer than it is optimal because the caster classes require a good bit of grinding before the good skills become available. We're also almost done with the (very eventful) Prologue.
