The game's Prologue reaches its closure as Yew faces the two former Cavaliers (though what kind of Cavaliers are they when they don't ride a horse and promote to Paladin? Even Cecil knew better).

Tiz joins the party as the fourth and last member at the highest level of 7, so levels 1, 5, 6 and 7 will be the levels we intend to finish the game at. Much like his Bravely Default self, Tiz is all-around good without any pronounced strengths like the other characters, but he tends to have more speed than anyone else so I will often use this when I want a specific unit to perform an action (or multiple ones) before the rest of the party. Not so helpful here, though I probably could've switched Yew and Tiz around in their roles, making Yew another physical attacker.

Having obtained Charioteer, we rely on that as our primary source of damage. Charioteer is the first physical class we got, Trample dealing 1.5x damage when at full HP - unlike physical attacks, it's not susceptible to whiffing or not proccing the maximum hit number, so it tends to be more potent even when at really low HP on average.

One of Charioteer's weird traits is having C in all weapon ranks, but the innate ability Born Warrior raises all weapon/armor ranks up one level every time you attack an enemy with the regular phys attack. That means we only need to attack a foe thrice with each Charioteer until we're at S-rank knuckles / katana (for Edea), maximising our physical damage output for all subsequent attacks with Trample, to which we switch over for more damage. Charioteer's P.Attack 20% Up helps hurt the opposition even more.

On Hard Mode, the difficulty has its first noticeable spikes here, with single-hit attacks dealing too much to one ally - combo it with another attack on the same or next turn, and the unit in question may not live another day. This is why Wizard's Damage Dispersion was learnt - the target of the attack will suffer 55% of the damage while everybody else will take 15% of the total, making it very hard for the bosses to actually kill somebody. This ST-turned-MT damage isn't hard to heal off with Halfsies Potion, though since Ethers aren't as widely available yet (cannot be bought and I'm not strong enough to farm them in this same dungeon either) it's a good idea to use Yew's Surplus turns to use Potions normally on weakened units.

Janne has 3K HP and is revived back to full when KO'd for the first time. Nikolai reunites with Yew here, albeit on the other side of the battlefield, with 2,25K health and some potentially threatening moves - luckily, he has an even poorer physical defence than Janne so by having some BP saved up before knocking Janne out for the first time, we can unleash a flurry of attacks for two or so turns, hopefully taking him out. If this doesn't happen, Nikolai will be healing himself for quite a lot, attacking the party with magic and being generally annoying.

Janne will be alone yet again, and the only minor annoyance now is him Defaulting without really any fixed pattern that can be remembered (unless you memorise the RNG for the battle, but I don't quite know what makes it change, nor do I want to for that matter) - the only way to avoid hitting him with weakened attacks due to Default is to attack ONLY the next turn after he Defaulted, and since that's the same turn he hits the party twice, it's a bad turn to Trample (farthest away from full HP) until you heal up first. I guess making Tiz the Freelancer and Yew the 3rd Charioteer would've resolved the problem a bit.

Examining them both here is helpful as the next times we face them the status carries over and we can check their HP without wasting another turn.

Well, the Prologue is now over and we move on to a much tougher Chapter 1 with its new jobs and challenges. Grinding skills will get easier, though I still end up using physical attacks for a fairly lengthy period of time until I'm basically forced to switch to optimised (well, to an extent) magic to get anything done in a reliable fashion.

Janne's and Nikolai's jobs may not be the biggest stars in the game, though some of Bishop's spells and abilities will end up highly effective in battles to come, and Fencer's attack self-buff will help the physically offensive strategies that will be employed in the next few videos. Bishop's healing doesn't really offer a good alternative to items at this point, but when much better comboable skills are learnt they will be seeing some much-needed use.
