Building WebSocket APIs with Rust | chill sunday morning coding - episode 209
In this stream, I started the session with updates to the Glowing-Telegram project, focusing on enhancing the WebSocket API. I shared insights on the development process, including implementing WebSocket integration with AWS API Gateway and DynamoDB for real-time task notifications. This update reintroduces features like task progress indicators and browser notifications, offering a smoother user experience. I also revisited the authentication flow to ensure secure and efficient communication, particularly handling connection IDs and message relays effectively.
Later in the stream, I switched gears to explore the Godot game engine for the first time. I installed the latest version and walked through setting it up, sharing my thoughts on the workflow, comparisons with tools like VS Code, and whether features like AI tools and Copilot integrate seamlessly with Godot. I experimented with creating a simple Pong clone to dive into the fundamentals of this game engine and examine its coding environment.
The stream wrapped up with discussions on user feedback, task management features, and plans for alternating between web development and game development in future streams.
