PS4 gamers have been left behind. Because, although Horizon Forbidden West launched on both current and last gen consoles, the new Burning Shores DLC is exclusive to PS5. It’s $20, and some gamers are saying that it’s too short to be worth it - but is that true?

Burning Shores dives deeper into Aloy’s character: showing a less stoic and more vulnerable side to her personality through her relationship with Seyka, a new companion character.

Everything takes place in a huge new area: the ruined remains of Los Angeles.

A benefit of being a PS5 exclusive is that the environments look straight up incredible.

The gameplay is mostly just more of the same from the main game, but there are some new weapons, outfits, and a new enemy type or two.

Keep in mind, if it’s been a while, it may take you a little while to get back into the swing of things. The combat is pretty complex, and the DLC just assumes you remember how everything works.

The main story will feel disappointingly short for some, but it has some pretty epic moments, especially towards the end.

Now, if you’re the type of gamer who likes to explore and collect everything - you could sink plenty of hours into this. But if you just power through the main campaign, it’s going to feel short.
