Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood (2009) (PC) (Techland)
The world needs more and better Western-themed games than Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood. I've been trying to play Techland's reasonably well-received shooter on and off for many months now but the clunky controls, weird difficulty spikes, truly awful writing and maddeningly obtuse duel mechanics make it really hard for me to derive any sustained enjoyment out of this game. There are some neat little ideas in here - such as some non-linear missions, slow-motion sharpshooter events and the ability to use a lasso - but most of them haven't been implemented nearly as well as they could have been. So, yeah, it's a real shame that PC gamers never got Rockstar's atmospheric and deeply poignant Red Dead Redemption, which despite its own flaws was a much more rewarding experience than Bound in Blood.
