The Walking Dead: Episode One (2012) (PC) (Telltale Games)
The Walking Dead bears little resemblance to any traditional puzzle-oriented adventure game, but the first episode (which should take less than two hours to complete) involves a nice bit of genuine tension and decent character development despite uneven voice work and some flat dialogue. The most interesting aspect by far is that there appears to be quite a few real choices regarding how the story develops (mostly in terms of who lives and who dies), and even in this first episode there are at least two decisions which should have some pretty major consequences for the rest of the series. Also, the narrative device of having the protagonist (and, by extension, the player) be responsible for the safety of a defenseless little girl could obviously be utilized in all sorts of intriguing and morally complex ways in future episodes.
