Dungeon crawlers are (in)famous for their frequent brain teasers involving pressure plates, teleports, grates, levers, buttons and trap doors. Grimrock delivers all of that and more even within the very first few levels, and apart from the mandatory mental workout required to actually proceed in the game there are also plenty of optional mysteries to solve which give nice rewards in the form of loot. I normally hate puzzles regardless of genre (simply because I'm too thick-headed and impatient to be good at solving them), but so far Grimock's less combat-oriented challenges have been fairly reasonable and most of my time getting a bit stuck has been related to more basic things like having to learn more about how to interact with the environments etc.
