Call Of The Zone - #244: Unexpected Loot
I quickly exited the Mobile Lab and got on the roof. To my surprise I saw the Ecologist was still alive and then I saw a Monolith and shot at them. Then the Ecologist disappeared and through the bushes I saw a Monolith appear and I shot him and then another. I waited to be sure and there was no more movement. They must have been on the other side of the road where the ground dropped lower, and I could not see from here.
I was ready to retrieve the loot from the battlefield until I saw a Bloodsucker skulking around. I kept shooting it until it dropped and then I ran out to the road which had bodies on both sides of it. The Ecologist in the brown suit, which had been the lone survivor of the Military attack, had a lot of loot on him and I was surprised to see a Gauss Gun. That must have come from a Monolith he was able to loot right before he was killed. I looted the remaining bodies which were three Monolith and the last one had a Groza-4 that I had been hoping to find for some time now. I didn't see the fourth Monolith body on my Mini-Map, but I was so happy to get the Groza-4 and Gauss Gun to keep looking, so I hastily returned to the Mobile Lab.
I had to repair the Groza-4 before it was in acceptable condition for the reward and once I gave it to the Clear Sky leader, I got my Spring artifact and released him and his sidekick and they left the Mobile Lab. I was now down to 15 Companions and I went outside to watch the Clear Sky leave. From the roof I saw a neutral and green NPCs at the Ash Heap Anomaly and then just the green shooting mutants. It was a friendly green Ecologist while the Faction remained neutral yellow. I didn't know why unless I had given him a medkit but that didn't register as a recent action of mine. I watched the Clear Sky squad ascend the road towards the Checkpoint.
