Can you trust Max Tech and Vadim?

Can you trust Max Tech and Vadim with their reviews of Apple Mac products such as the new M4 Ultra Mac Studio, M4 Max Mac Studio, M4 MacBook Air etc.? Or indeed, any MacBook, desktop Mac computer or iPhone and iPad reviews that they do. And especially any Mac peripherals such as Thunderbolt 5 SSD storage drives.

So not only were Max Tech and Vadim completely wrong about the Trebleet Thunderbolt 5 enclosure and 4TB Samsung 990 Pro combination in his original “build” video but Vadim has now doubled down with the inaccuracies and started repeating them in other videos.

The Samsung 990 Pro does indeed have a cache limit and most certainly slows down after it reaches that cache limit and it definitely isn't something that just “goes and goes” as Vadim said. Well, I mean it still goes but it does not go anywhere near the speed of its SLC speed once the SLC has been depleted.

I would also go so far as to suggest that Vadim and Max Tech deliberately chose a folder size in their original build video of the Trebleet Thunderbolt 5 enclosure and 4TB Samsung 990 Pro NVMe SSD, that wouldn't show the cache limit of the 990 Pro.

Now you may think that I am going hard on Vadim and Max Tech. However, consider this. Vadim's claims are entirely inaccurate and he's using those claims to influence viewers to buy that combination of products they will receive commission from. Now there's absolutely nothing wrong with YouTubers receiving commissions for their hard work and effort, I do myself. However, it is totally immoral to influence sales that you make money from when the claims about that product's performance is wrong. Which leads to a bad and expensive spend for the viewer you've influenced.

I have proven in a number of videos that the 4TB Samsung 990 Pro, while being a very good SSD in certain scenarios, simply isn’t a good option in any enclosure, for a number of reasons. This is why I always recommend the ACASIS TB501 enclosures and the WD SN850X SSD for a fast 4TB Thunderbolt 5 drive. There are links below to my recommendations.
