C&C YR Red Resurrection 2.2 - Soviet Mission 3, Big Apple [Red Alert 2]
42C&C YR Red Resurrection 2.2 for C&C Red Alert 2 Yuri's Revenge is a mod that was released in April 1st of 2018 by Omegabolt. Soviet Mission 3, Big Apple from the original Command & Conquer Red Alert 2 single player campaign with some additional features listed in the modification's website. The modification uses Yuri's Revenge as its base for the rules.
Yuri's Revenge is an expansion pack for C&C Red Alert 2, released in the October 2001. It contains 7 missions for both Soviets and the Allies, it's focused around time travelling back in time to stop Yuri's secret plan of dominating the world by activating secretly constructed Psychic Dominator devices during the war. Missions are way harder than these in vanilla Red Alert 2 campaign but are still much easier than those in C&C Red Alert 2 Mental Omega 3.3 or C&C Red Alert 2 Mental Omega 2.0. There was also planned a campaign for Yuri but it was scrapped due to the time constraints.
Command & Conquer: Red Alert 2 is a 2.5D real-time strategy computer game by Westwood Pacific, which was released for Microsoft Windows on October 23, 2000 as the follow-up to Command & Conquer: Red Alert. Set in the early 1970s, Red Alert 2 supposedly picks up at the conclusion of the Allied campaign of the first game, but this has been subject to debate. Its expansion is Command & Conquer: Yuri's Revenge.
This mission shows that the difficulty curve goes really high - this is way harder than in vanilla Red Alert 2 mission, a lot. The Allies won't be so easily subdued like before, they produce tons of units from all of their factories around the map, without mercy for you. Expect dozens of the GIs together with GGIs, Attack Dogs and Rocketeers around, don't forget about Liberty MBTs with IFV and Robot Tank to support them. Once the mission begins deploy your MCV and quickly focus on establishing the first Ore Refinery and the Barracks to produce some basic infantry to help. There is not so much ore around so it will be quickly harvested by your War Miners, anyway don't forget about the 3 Oil Derricks just near your base, helpful. Another funny thing you should remember when playing - the War Miners are fully amphibious, so don't have any concerns when sending them to a distant island with ore. As for the mission... you will need to use the infantry to occupy some buildings in the city, together with the Hammer MBT + Scorcher combination while pushing through. You might also need to add some Rykov anti-air personal carriers to defend the attacking force against the Allied jets together with Rocketeers in the air. The Emergency Repair support power is a must to use in this mission because of the constant Allied attacks against your units, try to save as many units as possible. You should focus on destroying the Allied factories (Barracks, War Factories, Airfields) to cripple them as much as possible, the AI boost is really tough. Once you capture the Battle Lab, it's good to have the Soviet Barracks nearby to train the cheap defenders all the time - remember that reinforcements here are scarce.
