Capture a snapshot of "Kochi's summer"! Yosakoi photo contest now accepting entries
Entries are now open for a competition to gather photos that capture the excitement of the Yosakoi Festival.
The "Yosakoi Photo Contest" began accepting entries on the 18th at the Kochi Yosakoi Information Center. Photos taken at the 72nd Yosakoi Festival, which ran until August 12th, and the National Championships are being collected, and every year nearly 500 works are submitted from within and outside Kochi Prefecture. Winning works will be determined based on how well they capture the dynamism of the dancers and their unique costumes. Entries can be submitted in person or by mail.

"I was worried about the rain. I thought there might not be many photographers, but there were more photographers out and about than I expected, so I'm looking forward to receiving a lot of photos from everyone. We've received some wonderful photos every year, but we're looking forward to receiving even more wonderful, brilliant photos."
Submissions are open until September 7th, and the winning works will be exhibited at the Kochi Yosakoi Information Center starting in October.
