Masterpieces.

Having finished this video, I still can't get over how much fun these games are to play. The moment to moment exploration, combat, jump attacking, enemy moveset learning, it's addictive. Even capturing footage was a total joy.

Neither of them has even the tiniest fraction of filler, just pure badass vampire hunting. I really want to play some of the older and other Castlevania games too.

I wanted to use pixel art from the games in the thumbnail but it just wouldn't work out. The art is really nice, but there's just something about those squares. For a GBA game with blown out saturation some of the places in Aria are breathtaking, and even though it's remembered for it's big triangles, PS1 pixel art speaks for itself.

It's funny that I didn't realise the connection between these games and the franchise that shall not be named until I wrote this video.
