So... something I kind of discovered by accident, during a relatively recent run... you can actually listen to "solo" versions of the duets (i.e. only one singer's vocals) in-game!
I'd already known that if you talk to someone who's singing, the game will mute the song vocals (leaving you with just the instrumental track) until the conversion is over. But for some reason, I guess it never occurred to me that for the duets, the game might not mute the vocals completely (like it does for the solos)... but for only one of the singers instead! ^^;
So... as it turns out, when you talk to Eurydice and Orpheus in Asphodel, the game will mute the vocal track only for whichever character talks to you... leaving you with what's kind of a solo version of the song for the other character. =)
Unfortunately, which character will talk to you isn't determined randomly when you talk to them... but rather, at some point earlier in the run (possibly when the run begins, based on the proc-gen seed). So if you want to hear both solo versions of a duet, you can't just quit and reload and talk to them again; you'll have to encounter them on a different run instead.
Which isn't so bad for "Good Riddance" (since it's the default duet)... but can be quite time-consuming for "In the Blood" (you have to be lucky enough to get the rare event... and also lucky enough to get a conversation with whichever character didn't talk to you last time)!
Fortunately, however, I'd actually kept backup copies of some of my save files... including a couple of my "In the Blood" encounters. I was a bit worried that the conversations might be with the same character... but as it turns out, I actually had one of each! =)
Anyway, as I've mentioned previously... due to the way Hades handles rare events and randomness, the game is definitely capable of waiting quite a long time before finally (randomly) choosing to present a player with a rare event! So... similar to the reasons I recorded the duet version of "In the Blood" (Hades 49), I decided to record the solo versions as well. =)
Thus, mostly for the benefit of players who haven't heard the solo versions but might be interested in hearing them (without having to grind through what could end up being a huge number of runs!)... but also for the benefit of any players (including myself) who have listened to the solos before, but might be interested in hearing them again (IMO it's pretty neat being able to listen to the harmonizing parts, outside of the context of the complete duet)! ^_^
