So, since I've kind of been working through completing all of the single-character extra modes with Monk, and basically only had one more to go (i.e. not counting Deathless (infinite, can't be completed!) and Dance Pad (an easier version of single-zone Zone 1))... I figured I might as well finish them off!
I quickly found out that I was a bit out of practice with Monk Hard Mode, though. ^^; Rather than list all of the embarrassingly careless run-ending mistakes I made, I'll just say... eventually, this run happened. ^^
Of course, I didn't play as well as I would've liked on this run either. There were definitely some moments when my run could've come to an end, including a... situation in 5-3. Which I did manage to survive... but ended up surrounded by gold, with no bombs remaining. ^^;
No problem, I can just wait out the song, right? Well... an orc also survived the battle, and since I couldn't sidestep (gold on every side!), I had no way of defeating it. =p
Okay, no problem, I just need to attack it every two beats... I can do that for the rest of the song, right? Well... I did make one mistake. ^^; But fortunately, it was to attack too late, rather than too early. =)
Anyway, this is the first time I've ever encountered a situation like this (surrounded by gold and persistently attacked by an enemy I have no way of defeating). In hindsight, it was kind of amusing... but at the time, maybe not so much. =p
On the plus side, I did end up with my first Monk Hard Mode win since Amplified's full release! So anyway, here's the video... hope you enjoy!
