For anybody who's interested in custom Cadences (or other characters), the official NecroDancer FAQ has some info about creating custom characters, and even has a link to the pinned thread on the official forums, where people have posted some of their custom creations:

So it occurred to me that, unlike every other non-Cadence character in the game, Nocturna isn't cursed by the Crypt in any way that Cadence isn't also cursed (Cadence can only act on the beat of the music, but Melody also can't change her weapon and can't gain damage bonuses, Aria can't change her weapon and can't gain health and takes damage from losing the beat, etc, etc, etc...)! So I got to thinking... if Nocturna did have an additional curse, what would it be?
Well, since Nocturna's most unique ability is her ability to Transform into a bat... it would probably be something related to that, right? ^^ Hmm... what if Nocturna didn't have the ability to choose WHEN to transform?
...and that's kind of how this video came about. =)
I considered a number of possibilities, including Transforms based on number of kills or number of beats... but in the end, I decided upon what's perhaps the simplest version of a Transform-based-curse in a music-driven world: every time a new song starts, Nocturna transforms. ^^ Though for gameplay reasons (i.e. so the Bat form won't give you enemy mapping on every single level!), I did the Transform at the very end of a level, instead of at the very beginning. And yes, I did have to scrap a couple runs because I forgot to transform before entering the stairs. ^^;;
Anyway, I had a lot of fun recording this! =) So here it is... my first ever alternating humanoid/bat Nocturna Low Percent win... hope you enjoy!
The mini-bosses and bosses I encountered during this run were:
Zone 1: Green Dragon, Gray Minotaur, Red Dragon, & King Conga 1.
Zone 2: Red Dragon, Gray Direbat, Red Dragon, & Death Metal 2.
Zone 3: Nightmare, Green Banshee, Blue Dragon, & Fortissimole 3.
Zone 4: Blood Nightmare, Ogre, The Mommy, & Deep Blues 4.
Zone 5: Gray Minotaur, Blue Dragon, Green Metrognome, & Coral Riff 5.
