Welcome to the CDP showcasing our newest furry critter, Rescue Hedgehog. This little Beast can be banished to Special Summon 2 Level 3 or lower monsters with the same Type/Attribute/Level, just one has to be a Normal Monster while the other an Effect Monster. This can lead to some pretty fun plays, and wide applications across a variety of archetypes, so I decided to put together this profile to showcase a few of them!
Starting off the video is Rescue Rose Dragon Rikka, a build designed to take advantage of Hedgehog to Special Summon Red Rose Dragon alongside Hunter Dragon. These Level 3 DARK Dragons quickly can turn into a whole lot more, as the biggest issue holding Rose Dragon back as a deck right now is the Limited status of Red Rose Dragon. Rescue Hedgehog is just basically 3 more Red Rose Dragon, just with the instant setup with a non-Tuner for fun Plant combos. This build also includes the new Ooyatsu Tsumamuhime Plant Monster, just because I love the idea of yet another tech option making Normal Monsters in this deck.
The second build is Rescue Wight Horus Ishizu, a build designed to reinforce a deck that was already playing a Normal Monster to begin with: Skull Servant. With Rescue Hedgehog, you have so many options, whether it is summoning Servant alongside Wightbaking to tutor additional Skull Servant cards or a Wightprince to enable the filling of your GY for the summon of a supercharged King of the Skull Servants. Beyond this theme, the Horus archetype provides stability and access to Xyz Monsters such as The Zombie Vampire for even more milling, while two monsters from the Ishizu theme just joins the party for the same reason.
The third build is Rescue Volcanic Possessed, which takes the established Volcanic theme and lets Rescue Hedgehog give them a reason to use their in-archetype Normal Monster, Volcanic Rat! You see, Hedgehog can turn into Rat and either Volcanic Shell or Volcanic Rimfire, letting you setup for future Bonefire plays. Since I covered Volcanic the last time, they've also received indirect support in the form of Fire Recovery, which gives them even more ability to recycle Volcanic Scattershot for more blazing burn damage.
Next up, we have the fourth build: Rescue Mokey Mokey. That's right, this is the first time that Mokey Mokey is featured on my channel, alongside its new companion, Mokey Mokey Adrift. This is a hard combo theme, using Rescue Hedgehog to tutor both Adrift and the OG Mokey Mokey, eventually filling your board with 5 Mokey Mokey to enable The Law of the Normal. This Spell card wipes the rest of the field and hand, giving you quite the advantage if you pull it off. Getting 5 Mokey Mokey is easy when you have Tri-Wight and Inferno Reckless Summon at your disposal!
This brings me to the final build: Rescue Red Dragon Archfiend Resonator. The last build takes a deck that already had plenty of ways to combo and gives them that much more consistency when you Hedgehog into both a Soul Resonator and Dokuroyaiba to make your first Synchro Summon of Red Rising Dragon. From there, the duel is your oyster with endless DARK Dragon Synchro Monsters, and tons of Trap Cards aimed at disrupting the opponent.
