Moving on from the Celestial Resort, we check out the Golden Ridge and arrive at the Mirror Temple, where things really start to get interesting.

The Golden Ridge adds wind mechanics, making this Celeste's version of Ninja Gaiden II 2-2. The hardest thing for me to handle here wasn't so much the wind, as the bouncy clouds - I frequently messed up the jump timing, because there's a delay between when you land and when the bounce-back happens that properly boosts your jump. I messed this up even more frequently when there was wind and other distractions also happening at the same time. In some instances the level feels almost like it has ice physics, when you're trying to platform in the same direction as strong winds.

The Mirror Temple sets itself apart in multiple ways. The level is far less linear and seems to largely consist of multiple hub rooms, branching off to various "leaf" rooms to investigate. Even more notable, however, is when the game starts throwing actual sentient threats at the player, which is something I wasn't expecting. I found dealing with this to be far more frustrating than any of the platforming so far. It's a good thing Theo tells you when you're close to the end, because I was beginning to run pretty low on patience in the final room. I'd probably consider this to be the second unforgiving difficulty spike of the game, after the one incredibly long room near the end of the Celestial Resort.

At this point I'm _really_ curious where the heck we're headed (and what the game will throw at us) next.
