Celeste Strawberry Jam Collab: Intermediate Lobby Green Levels
2With everything in the Beginner Lobby cleared, it's time to see how much the difficulty ramps up from one lobby to the next, as we start the Intermediate Lobby.

The green levels in the Intermediate Lobby span a rather wide range in terms of difficulty. Fifth Dimension feels like it could easily have been a Beginner Lobby map except for the inclusion of wall bounces; all of its rooms were fairly short and extremely readable. On the other end, Sleeping Under Stars was very much Farewell-tier except harder, but also much shorter.
Frosted Fragments gave me the most trouble, not so much in terms of the level itself, but in betraying expectations when hunting for secrets, as some parts of the level were designed in ways that made me think there could be side-rooms where there weren't any. I also got somewhat frustrated by a couple of maps in this group implicitly checkpointing the player at the _end_ of a room once they reach it - chances are, if I take a death _after_ reaching the end platform of a room, I _want_ to go back to the beginning and explore the room again. As it turns out, however, there was nothing to gain by restarting rooms where this occurred, so I guess I should take that as a hint in future cases.
Backtrack prevention at certain points would feel far less painful if the levels in Strawberry Jam had checkpoints that you could warp to akin to A-sides in vanilla Celeste. Unfortunately, I've only seen that be the case with the Beginner Heartside level so far... which means that for every other level, missing a berry means you need to replay the _entire level_ until that point, which increasingly feels like a waste of the player's time, as the levels increase in difficulty. In the future, I may start leaning harder on debug mode to save time. (I have once again cut some redundant parts of this video to at least save _your_ time when watching.)
