CEMU 1.15.4 - Breath of the Wild 4K 60 FPS - New FPS++ Offers Significant Performance Gain
It's been a while since I've uploaded a runaround in BotW (last time was in 1.15.1). For a while there wasn't any major improvements to this particular game as far as performance goes, but a recent update to the FPS++ Graphics Pack has paved the way for some noteworthy performance gains.
In a nutshell, the key change is that FPS++ has been expanded with more customisable options, some of which will improve the experience on most machines. The most noteworthy one is "CPU Occlusion Query". The main reason to use this is to fix the enemy A.I without having to use Full sync at GX2DrawDone setting within CEMU's graphics settings. Full sync at GX2DrawDone also fixes the enemy A.I, as well as some graphical issues, but it has a noteworthy performance cost (my estimate based on my setup would be about 7-10 FPS depending on the area). Since CPU Occlusion Query fixes the enemy A.I and you won't have to use the Full sync setting, you get better performance while still retaining accurate enemy A.I. Some graphical issues that the Full sync setting fixes my still appear, though. Personally, I find them rather infrequent and there is only one I actually noticed which you can see in the video shortly after I teleport to the Faron region.
Besides that, I have slightly upped the graphical fidelity since last time. There is a graphics pack known as the "Too Many Options" graphics pack, which can be used to tweak an absurd variety of graphical elements and effects in Breath of the Wild. I didn't go too crazy with it but I did use it to improve the ambient occlusion a bit, as well as make small adjustments to the lighting, and I also used the "Bluer Skies" option. Besides that, I edited Linkle's colours using it, but that's just for fun. Everything else is kept the same as last time.
