Sorry if the audio isn't always synched up correctly.. and sorry that this game sucks! This game actually rips off Cinematronics' earlier arcade game titled-- get this-- RIP OFF! It's the same premise-- you try to keep the enemy ships from stealing your fuel pods, and if they make off with all 8 your game will end. You have infinite lives (you lose one from being shot or by collision-- and the game doesn't mention this but it looks like you can also be destroyed by a force field that flashes over the surface of the moon you are flying over), and when you are destroyed you immediately re-appear at the left of the screen. You cannot fly through the edges of the screen to reappear at the other side, nor shoot in this manner. A couple different touches between this and the earlier RIP OFF are that you can grab the pods and deposit them onto arms of the centralized space station; once they are in place the enemy can't abscond with them by flying off the screen with them. Also, only one type of enemy can steal them. All the others just serve to shoot at you. An odd gameplay element is that your space station gets shot to start each level, and it looks like it was blown up by an enemy on the surface of the planet-- but it immediately regenerates! Huh..? Anyway, this blast jars the fuel pods loose and scatters them a bit so you have to fly around and pick them up-- ONE AT A TIME-- and bring them to the arms protruding from the space station so the enemies can't grab them. Pretty blah game, which really needed several interesting new elements from the original RIP OFF and got very few. I don't know if this is a prototype or actual release.
