Charge, Gates, & Area Expansion (see description) - Pikmin Test 8
I implemented a Pikmin 3-style charge mechanic because, honestly, it was simpler than trying to recreate Pikmin 1 & 2's swarm mechanic.
The area has also been expanded. There is a spacious and terraced east side, and a cramped west side that is gated off at its north (first visited) and south (last visited) entrances. I intend to place and test some water in the depression surrounding the blue 10-pellet (if that wasn't already obvious based on the item and its placement). The stone formation on top of the ledge south of the landing site is still there, as is the tower to the north which can be seen most clearly near the end of Pikmin Test 3 (and is now mostly obscured by terrain). The tower is now only accessible from the west side of the area. The southwest of the area contains a currently unused circular arena; I'm sure you can guess what that will be used for in the future. The southeast is spacious but also unused. I may test enemies there later. Atop the terraces directly to the east of the landing site are an unseen series of ramps used for testing. North of the landing site is the aforementioned tower, as well as a clearing to its east and some incomplete corridors. In general, the northeast is very unfinished. The bridge to the tower now ends in an alcove. I intend to place a hole in the alcove if/when I test caves.
