Chibi-Robo: Plug into Adventure (Blind) - Episode 4: Groans of a Sad Past
In today's episode of the "Chibi-Robo!" playthrough, we use a mug to get past the Free Rangers, enter the basement, find our long-deactivated predecessor, and learn about the Free Rangers' tragic past.
With the help of a Drake Redcrest mug, we're finally able to get past the Free Rangers in the foyer and reach the basement (and Mrs. Sanderson complained that her husband's obsession with Drake Redcrest was good for nothing), which we investigate after hearing a strange groaning noise. Though upon entering the area, it doesn't take long for us to discover the noise's source: a large defunct robot that bears a strong resemblance to Chibi-Robo. But the similarities between Chibi and this larger robot don't stop at appearances, because upon plugging into the latter, we learn that some time ago, it also helped to make the Sanderson household a better place until its high electricity consumption prompted them to banish it to the basement.
So now we have a new mission: power up Giga-Robo because we can. I mean, it's not like it would try to get revenge on the Sandersons for abandoning it or anything. However, that mission will have to wait because while we were able to acquire Giga-Robo's battery, we can't reach its charger yet (or so I think).
But apparently Giga-Robo's not the only thing in this house with a sad past since we also learn from the leader of the Free Rangers that the reason why he's so hellbent on defending the foyer is because he and his men were powerless to stop Tao, the family dog, from taking one of their own, Private Memphis, who has never been seen since.
