Choplifter HD is a prime example of how you remake/reboot a game. The graphics are nice, the sound is great, and the addition of the humor heard in the chatter between the pilot and co-pilot keeps the game from getting serious. The swiveling laser sight adds more fun and freedom since your shots are no longer fixed to the direction of nose of your copter. The more stars you earn per level unlocks different helicopters that have different traits like the ability to carry more people, more ammo, and sport guns that don't overheat as quickly. Normally these good things come at a price and cost you speed which can be more important depending on the mission at hand. The game eases you in quite a bit and really starts challenging you by the time you get to the end of the second campaign. When you get to the third campaign the game really starts to punish you. However even as game gets harder it is still a blast to play because the game is just well designed and the radio chatter keeps you smiling.

This game mainly got panned for it's difficulty spike that happens suddenly at the end of the second campaign. Alot of reviewers cried because the game got too hard. They've obviously never played Choplifter III on the Super Nintendo which was just plain unfair. This game is a true underrated gem and is available for a wide variety of platforms. I bought my copy on a Steam holiday sale for only 2 bucks, but the game is well worth it's normal price of 10 bucks. I can't recommend this game enough.

Thanks for watching.
