Welcome back to a new installment of "Gamer Addict Weekly"!
It's episode 3.3 of Chrono Trigger (クロノトリガー), and this week we are headed back to the past..
The Kingdom of Guardia is currently fighting the Mystics in a war of dominance. But while Guardia may still be standing, Magus' troops continue to advance, the King is bed ridden, and their hero Cyrus has gone missing. What could be worse? Cyrus was the last one seen carrying the Masamune, the one sword that has been fabled to be the tool in Magus' defeat.
The Queen tells our heroes that Frog once ran in Cyrus' circle, and if anyone knew where he could be, it would be him.
Even before our heroes find him to question. They first run into Tata at the Denadoro Mountains. This child was seen running around with the Hero's Medal, fooling people in town that he was in fact the true hero of Guardia.
But he ran off at the foot of the mountain... and fast..
By the time they reach the summit of the mountain, they are engaged by two (who appear to be) young children. After asking if they are there for the sword, they reference Cyrus ever so briefly and then challenge them to see if they are worthy.
However, proving themselves in battle was only the beginning, as they soon find out from the mystical beings that the sword is actually broken and needs to be repaired.
Can they find all the missing parts, will this sword actually stop the villainous Magus from destroying their kingdom?
