Chrono Trigger (SNES) Intro Demonstration
This was made to be used in a review I made on this French site here: http://www.geekmodeblog.com/2009/02/chrono-trigger-snes.html#complet The people who made this amazing game also did a very good job at making a trailer at the beginning (you know, when you don't press any button for a certain period of time). It is at the same time revealing, but without really spoiling anything. It is set to Yasunori Mitsuda's music who did a really good job for this game's soundtrack. You can see some battles, including some combos. Character design is made by Akira Toriyama (the guy responsible for Dragon Ball). For me, this is the definitive RPG, with a complex tale about changing the future and avoiding the apocalypse by traveling through time (you might think the apocalypse is overused in video games, but in this game, it is nothing like you've seen before and it is presented in a very well written story). Things you do in the past affect the future in multiple ways as there are multiple accessible time periods, which also means you get to see how the people and the land develop over time. The Active Time Battle system from Final Fantasy is used (a bar fills up for each character and when it's full, you can choose your attack for that character), but they added combos which can be performed by two or three characters for more damage. Some attacks deal damage to a straight line of enemies, other affect a limited area and there are those who will deal damage to all enemies, etc. This game has everything a good RPG needs, and the demonstration they made should be enough to make you want to play it right away if you haven't already played it (unless you can't stand RPGs, of course).
