Chuckie Egg Longplay Part 3
3The next eight levels of Chuckie Egg, played on the BeebEm BBC Micro emulator.
These levels are where the game starts to get tough, although the first two are not that bad. Level 19 is the first that really demands preparing a set route in advance; of course, the problem with doing so is that it can be tricky to deal with unexpected setbacks. This can be clearly seen on Level 22: I missed the timing when stepping left off the first ladder, and so knew that I would miss the lift platform. I found an escape, but was much more nervous due to being off my prepared route, and so missed an easy jump, resulting in my first death.
As for Level 24, it's amazing how merely combining the duck and hens is enough to change what was once the breather level into the hardest level of the current phase. Preparing a route is no help with this one; you just have to keep moving and keep an eye out for opportunities to slip past the hens.
