The next six levels of Chuckie Egg, played on the BeebEm BBC Micro emulator.

The levels of this phase have additional hens, which has the surprising effect of making even the new version of Level 1 as difficult as any of the levels of the previous phase. The problem is that the hens tend to block progress towards the "dead end" eggs (those at the top on the first level, those in the top-right on the second) and so you need to know when there will be an opportunity and time your movements to seize it. As you can see, on Level 25 I find the tiniest of gaps to squeeze through; probably a safer opportunity would arise later if you could avoid the hens and duck long enough.

On Level 27, I take advantage of a couple of "bounces" present in the level layout (see Peter's excellent site http://www.bagshot-row.org/chuckie-egg/ for more information on these). Yes, I could have used these to improve my performance on the earlier levels with this layout. My route on Level 29 requires similar knowledge of the consequences of jumping from precise places; in this case, being able to catch onto the very top of a ladder. And almost all the levels in this section require a good sense of just how close you can get to the duck without dying. (My death on Level 28 isn't so much due to getting this wrong as to going wrong with the timing.)

The music for this video is "Dark Messenger" from Final Fantasy IX.
