The Original Game Boy is one of the biggest 'game changers' in the history of video games, and essentially ushered in the popularity of handheld games. There are many games that will be classic forever. There are, however, a much, much higher number of simply awful, forgettable, or downright weird games. CiB Game Boy Theater shows you some of the games you might not (and shouldn't be...) familiar with.

HERE we go, another sports title. Ooooh baby. In Malibu Beach Volleyball's defense - it's a pretty simple game. They didn't try to go above and beyond and make it a super complicated game, but in the end, it's just volleyball. Come to think of it, I think Super Dodge Ball for the SNES is really the only volleyball game I was ever into (maybe some of the Mario and Sonic volleyball minigames were cool). It's like golf games - golf games are golf games. Volleyball games are volleyball games. Next!

Fortified Zone is one of those games that I actually want to like a lot. It has a unique style. The graphics aren't super bad, and the gameplay isn't super bad. I like the idea of having the map, exploring, finding the keys, and going to the next level (I'm curious exactly how many levels this mammoth game has). It's just too hard. I mean, yeah, two characters is nice, but only a few hits until you're dead? Come on, not for a game with this many enemies. Still, I like what they did here, and feel like watching somebody play this through would be pretty /comfy/. Thanks for watching!
