Playstation 1 is truly the 'Wild West' of video game systems. In the early days of 3D, it seemed like every developer tried to throw their hat into the massively popular PS1 ring and produced some of the most random, odd games of all-time. Recently, we sat down with a stack of PS1 games we never heard of, and the results are... unsurprising.

Excalibur 2555AD is a 1997 release, developed by Tempest (who) and published by Sir-Tech (who?). Sir-Tech did a lot of early Wizardy games, which generally seemed to be up and down in terms of quality.

This is another -classic- example of a pretty cool idea, done in by the 'where do I go?' syndrome. 10 minutes in, and we already don't know what to do. I'm sure the answer is obvious, or some small missed item/etc... heck, maybe we don't even know how to use the items. I'm not saying everything should be obvious, but start out the game with a few gimmes to get you used to it.

Alas, this is classic early 3D game 'where do I go' syndrome, so play this one with a FAQ handy. Thanks for watching!
