Please note: the sound was a little off for this week's recording. We apologize, and the quality will be better again next week!

Brahma Force was released in 1997 for the PS1, and was developed by Genki (probably best known for the Kengo fighting game series, although it looks like they are still around), and published by Jaleco (Bases Loaded, Rival Turf, R-Type III).

I have to say, this is a pretty interesting game. The opening cutscene still has that wow factor 20+ years later, so I can't imagine how awesome it looked in 1997. The gameplay is very smooth, with a nice frame-rate (due to the severe lack of draw-distance), but it seems pretty lackluster, unless you're a fan of mec games. I assume that the story continues to get crazier and crazier, but I can't imagine sitting through 5-10 hours of gameplay to see snippets of the story. Maybe there is a 'Brahma Force: the Movie' on Youtube somewhere... thanks for watching!
