ClayFighter 2: Judgment Clay (SNES) Playthrough - NintendoComplete
A playthrough of Interplay's 1995 versus-fighter for the Super Nintendo, ClayFighter 2: Judgment Clay.
Played through as GooGoo on the hard level. I also show all of the hidden characters at the very end.
Even though it came out just six months after ClayFighter Tournament Edition, it's far closer to a sequel than TE's incremental upgrade was. There are quite a few new special moves and characters (even if it lacks any real kind of combo system). It's pretty simplistic compared to other games around that time - it's certainly not SSF2, MK2, or Weaponlord in its depth, but it makes for a fun title nonetheless, especially if you enjoyed the original as much as I did. The only really major gripe I have with C2 (I love the T2 references - that title demo and Hoppy are great) is the animation. The clay models look great - big improvement in detail over the first game - but the limitations of the cart's 24meg rom show pretty quickly when you realize how few frames are used for any movements out attacks. It's definitely enough to make timing your moves a bit difficult. Thankfully that was no longer an issue in the N64 games (which I love, regardless of popular opinion).
I really like C2. It's got loads of personality, and as long as you don't take it to seriously, it can be quite fun.
