Using CMS as WordPress for building websites and even selling wordpress websites is normal. But what about if you are building a website for small business than just use ThemeForest themes because you are not going to sell a custom theme website to small business unless he will to pay for it.
But WordPress theme coding is not that hard and you can easily build WordPress themes if you are solid HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScrip. Also you need some PHP knowledge for building WordPress themes.
Word.
WP is really the best CMS in the World for building websites and selling websites which are build on WordPress.
Learning Curve of WordPress is really low so if you build a WP Website than you can teach anyone to manage a WordPress website within few hours.
