Hello, I'm back with another video, because I'm excited about this program now! I had no idea there was a community continuation of Oblige a week ago! Obsidian has some bug fixes and more features. It's pretty amazing!

I'm glad I didn't know about it a week ago, because that gave me a week to experiment with Oblige. Oblige is a random level generator for Doom 1 & 2, Heretic, and Hexen. I have not gotten Hexen to work yet but will post a future video if I find the correct settings.

The other thing is Oblige is a great program, but after trying to crank out about 10 Heretic wads, it failed on level creation 70% of the time. So far, Obsidian has cranked out Heretic wads 100% of the time for me. I noticed in the changelog it said the Heretic prefabs were complete, so that may be why.

In this video, I just walk you through downloading and compiling the source code. I don't actually demo any of the wads, but I did test them with Brutal Heretic RPG and they run and look beautiful! The source code compiling takes about 2 minutes (with elevator music), so you may want to fast forward that part.

Here is the link to Brutal Heretic RPG:
