Constructivist Learning in Virtual Reality: Enhancing Classroom Engagement through VRLEs
Constructivist Learning in Virtual Reality: Enhancing Classroom Engagement through VRLEs
Layman Abstract: Educational institutions are always looking for new ways to attract and retain students. One promising approach is using Virtual Reality Learning Environments (VRLEs), which can engage students and enhance learning. While fields like computer science, medicine, and engineering have used VRLEs for some time, other disciplines are now beginning to adopt them due to lower costs and wider availability. However, challenges still exist, including cost, space, accessibility, usability, and cybersickness. A study was conducted to explore these barriers, and a seven-step model was proposed to help schools effectively implement VRLEs in a way that supports active learning and critical thinking. This model provides insights for educators interested in using virtual reality in their classrooms.
