Locating two more of the ghost children with Ayumi and Yoshiki, Neosekken returns their tongues to them. This causes the biggest earthquake to hit all the closed spaces yet, and it seemingly causes a dark figure to materialize in the nurse's office. But perhaps most incredibly of all, Ayumi and Yoshiki apparently find themselves back in their classroom in Kisaragi Academy.

Ayumi and Yoshiki's growing need to celebrate their escape is cut short, however, when a black mass appears in their classroom, with the spirit of one of the ghost children, Yuki, standing in front of it. It is then that Yuki explains to the duo how she ended up being kidnapped by Yoshikazu along with the 3 other children and taken to Heavenly Host's basement. She also explains that repentance of their killer is the only act truly capable of moving the ghost children, since giving them back their tongues would only temporarily restore their sanity before Heavenly Host would corrupt them once again. Unfortunately, Yuki was unable to pull everyone from Class 2-9 out of the closed spaces, only able to barely succeed pulling Ayumi and Yoshiki out.

Ayumi and Yoshiki want to get the others out, however, and demand information from Yuki on what they can to achieve this. Yuki then tells them that the only way to do this will be to go back into the closed spaces, appease all the ghost children with the method Yuki describes to them, and escape when the stability of the closed spaces is at their weakest.

Ayumi then prods Yuki for information on why their previous attempt to appease her and the other ghost children failed, and in response Yuki decides to show Ayumi her final memory of when she was still alive: during the Heavenly Host Murders when Yuki and the other children were killed.

During all this, Satoshi and Naomi continue reading Kou Kibiki's follow up report on Sachiko Shinozaki, where he continues his invesigation on her activities after the Heavenly Host Murders - or rather, her apparent lack thereof. Curiously, no matter how hard Kibiki looked he could find absolutely no new data to be had on Sachiko herself or her family after the incident in Heavenly Host, almost as though Sachiko and her family had literally vanished off the face of the Earth.

This scene with Kibiki's report and the one where Ayumi relives Yuki's death during the Heavenly Host Murder incident itself jump back and forth between each other, the connection between Kibiki's report on Sachiko and Yuki's memory of her death not making itself apparent to Neo - at first. However, it is when Ayumi experiences Yuki's turn on the chopping block, after having to listen to the gruesome deaths of two of the other children that chosen before her, that Neo witnesses a shocking truth about the killer firsthand, one that leads him to a stunning revelation about the incident as a whole...
