Today I show how to install any supported Windows game (I chose The Witcher) or app in Linux through CodeWeavers CrossOver 15 on any Linux desktop distro.

Recently I showed you how to install CrossOver 15 in any Linux here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JTbQn6Rixao Now we go one step further and install the first game - I chose The Witcher: Enhanced Edition.

If you do not remember what it is CrossOver, a reminder hurry. CrossOver is an application developed by CodeWeavers as an application that can run in a native environment for Mac or Linux applications and games from Windows. Importantly application CrossOver uses WINE applications, and its creators are paid just by CodeWeavers just from the sale of a commercial package of CrossOver. So remember, supporting CrossOver, you support the WINE. CrossOver is a commercial application and to use it you must buy it. However, there is the opportunity to try it for free in the trial version.

1. Download CrossOver
2. Install it.

3. Run.
4. Click on the button to install Windows software and search the list of compatible applications and games, chose what you want to install or select Manuall installation not supported applications.
5. After selecting a game or application, follow the instructions of the installer.
So select to install Steam (If you have a Steam key) or from other sources eg. from a CD / DVD or installer eg. from GOG.com. I chose the installer The Witcher 1 via GOG.
6. The installer will indicate what additional files must be installed for optimal gameplay, for example - Directx and more, and then after the approval he will proceed to install them.
Keep in mind that the installation of different games may be different from each other.
7. After the installation, start the game or application from shortcut on the desktop or directly from the menu of the program CrossOver.
Done.

Dzisiaj pokażę wam jak zainstalować dowolną wspieraną grę lub aplikację na Linuksie za pomocą CrossOver 15. Ja wybrałem Wiedźmin - The Witcher Enhanced Edition z GOG.com.

Ostatnio pokazywałem jak zainstalować aplikację CrossOver 15 w dowolnym systemie Linux. Teraz pójdziemy krok dalej i zainstalujemy pierwszą grę.

Jeśli nie pamiętacie czym jest CrossOver, to śpieszę z przypomnieniem. CrossOver jest aplikacją rozwijaną przez CodeWeavers jako aplikację umożliwiającą uruchamianie w natywnym środowisku dla Maca lub Linuksa aplikacji i gier z systemu Windows. Co ważne aplikacja CrossOver używa aplikacji WINE, zaś jego twórcy są opłacani właśnie przez CodeWeavers właśnie ze sprzedaży komercyjnego pakietu CrossOver. Dlatego pamiętaj, wspierając CrossOver, wspierasz również WINE.

CrossOver jest aplikacją komercyjną i aby z niej skorzystać należy ją kupić. Jest jednak możliwość wypróbowania jej za darmo w wersji Trial.

1. Pobierz CrossOver
2. Zainstaluj.
Jak? Pokazałem w poprzednim wideo:

4. Kliknij na przycisk zainstaluj oprogramowanie Windows i wyszukaj na liście kompatybilnych aplikacji i gier produkcję, którą chcesz zainstalować lub wybierz manulane instalowanie aplikacji nie wspieranych.
5. Po wybraniu gry lub aplikacji podążaj za wskazówkami instalatora.
Czyli wybierz instalację przez Steam (jeżeli posiadacz klucz Steam) lub z innych źródeł np. z płyty CD/DVD lub instalatora np. z GOG.com. Ja wybrałem instalator The Witcher 1 z GOG.
6. Instalator wskaże jakie dodatkowe pliki należy zainstalować do optymalnej rozgrywki np. directx i inne, a następnie po akceptacji sam przystąpi do ich instalacji.
Pamiętaj, że proces instalacji różnych gier może się różnić od siebie.
7. Po instalacji uruchom grę lub aplikację ze skrótu na pulpicie lub bezpośrednio z menu programu CrossOver.
