A extremely well done map... loaded to the brim with custom content and a Final Boss DONE RIGHT!

(First episode feature the newest addition to the mods I use... couple music changes, but the main thing is the infected skins for the Jockey, Tank, Boomer, Spitter, and Smoker (Louis is now Jack Skellington... I would rather shoot slenderman than work with him...)... I would have do the same for the Hunter and Charger... but there wasn't any for the charger I really wanted to use... and I have grown attached to the hunter skin I use...)

Pros
+Custom models, textures, music, melee weapons, tank skin, particles, other misc stuff...
+Unique events...
+Best use of backtracking I have seen in a LONG time...
+Melee weapons... and tones of them...
+Bosses...
+Traps and well designed puzzles...
+Lava is not an instant kill... thank god...
+Easter Eggs...
+Custom Horde music... that is a first...
+Zelda nostalgia if it applies to you...
+Is still a great map even without the zelda skin... (will touch up on this in conclusion)

Cons
-Could have used some subtle hints for some things... shooting the door that attack you is one example...
-Reliance on a melee weapon... not a terrible thing, but it is too some people...
-Bots had troubles avoiding death by the fire spewing totems...
-Some traps do too much damage...
-Couple frame-rate drop areas...
-Mini bosses pose no threat...
-Boulder did far too much damage...
-The custom enemies are too affect against bots (bots got stuck on the fire slugs a few times)...

Final Verdict
98/100

This is an excellent map... so much custom content everywhere for everything... I never played the game this campaign was based off of... but with the amount of work put into it... I have no doubt it is very accurate to the real thing...

There is so much right with this campaign... and I feel I don't need to explain most of it... but it does have its flaws as does everything else... Some traps do too much damage for their own good... and are killer for the first time players... the reliance on a specific melee weapon held by a single person can be seen as a problem... I have no issue with it, but some will... all possible ways considered though... I think it was handled in the best way it could have been... The mini bosses were laughably easy to deal with... only causing damage when I managed to explosion lock my bomb supply... the biggest thing however for me was the lack of hints on certain things... It took me forever to figure out ANY breakable wall portion... and more than half of the time it was only solved because a bots was shooting at something else in the way... I don't ask for a giant neon sign point out the way... but maybe have something near the beginning... like a path you have to shoot open... to let the players know that it is an option...

Now for the final boss... I love how it was not a bullet sponge boss... it is done in the way I would do a boss, as a hit and survive type deal... this way the player is not punished for playing solo, and the difficulty levels stay relatively the same for any number of players... it was actually fun to deal with... as opposed it ALL other boss fights made so far... as anyone of plays offline will tell you... *cough cough* No Parking *cough*... don't get me wrong... it is not that those types of bosses don't have a place in these maps... just look at the Tank... he is a bullet sponge boss... but that attribute does not work for everything...

So... Death Mountain... play it... now...
