Welcome! To Let's Orcs Must Die! Unchained - gameplay, part 1!
Imagine the original games of Orcs Must Die, where you defend your fortress from waves of orcs by setting up traps, or wading into the battle yourself. Mirror that setup and you'll get Unchained's basic premise: Two fortresses with two teams protecting them, and two armies of orcs heading in opposite directions. Consider that the orcs move through multiple lanes between the fortresses, a roster of heroes that lend themselves to different roles (ranged dps, melee tank), and the MOBA label makes sense. In Orcs Must Die! Unchained You start the match by setting up traps—burning coals, spikes, swinging maces, etc, and picking your special abilities, as you did in the previous games. The exciting new addition is that you also get to choose what kind of wave of mobs (or creeps, if you will) your enemy will face.
But worry not if pvp is not a thing for You, Orcs Must Die! Unchained also have a pve mode, it plays almost the same way the good old Orcs Must die I and II, but with Five people in-stead of one. You can choose from large number of heroes each of them having a different way of playing and a bit different set of starting traps. Orcs in Orcs Must Die! Unchained are a bit harder to kill then in the original game for heros at least but the traps are more deadly then before.
So a PVE mode of Orcs Must Die! Unchained focus very hard on the right setup of traps, You may say the gameplay is a bit different then back in the original.
